Last week Gerson Garsed-Brand visited the University of Southampton for meetings with Andrea Da Ronch and David Massegur, about their joint research project, “AI-based Pressure Reconstruction Method for the Prediction of Real-time Aerodynamic Performance of an Electric Propeller”.
Within this proof-of-concept project sponsored by UK Research and Innovation, we are developing a methodology to predict the aerodynamic pressure field on the propeller surface based on live pressure measurements combined with training data generated from CFD and a deep learning AI model.
The preliminary results are very exciting; watch this space for further updates in the coming months.
